Please join the Santa Fe Hunt for all, or part of our Race Meet weekend. The race meet will be held a Galway Downs, Southern California Equestrian Center, one of southern California's premier 3-day eventing facilities. All jumps meet USEA design standards, and the terrain offers interesting options. Hunter Pace events are a tradition in foxhunt clubs all over the world. The idea behind the Hunter Pace is to try to match the speed of an actual foxhunt. At the race Meet, we measure the distance and use a pre-set speed, thereby producing an "optimum time" for the course to be ridden. Closest to the optimum time (over or under) wins. Classes include opportunities for riders who enjoy jumping and those who prefer to keep all 4 hooves on the ground. This meet is sure to be fun for all!
We are offering three levels of participation.
- "Unlimited Classes" is a flat fee of $180 ($150 plus $30 grounds fee) for participation in all classes in the race meet and includes Saturday meals: continental breakfast; delicious sandwich and salad lunches. This is by far your best value, and its easy to add or change your classes.
- "Prepaid class by class" must pay for meals separately. WE MUST KNOW IF YOU WILL BE JOINING US FOR MEALS BY April 4. If you don’t know exactly which classes you will be riding in you still need to send in your entry form with your “meal money” by Friday April 8. (See entry form for very reasonable meal costs.) Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
- “Day-of” entries for classes are always welcome, but there is a $50 late entry fee for riders who enter on the day of the event. Prepaid riders may add classes on the day of the event for the regular fee of $40 per class (late entry fee does not apply.) Unlimited Classes riders may enter any class at no additional fee. Discounts apply for youths and USPCA members.
