Summer Sunset/Moonrise Horse Ride
Time & Location
About the Event
Escape the insanity and embrace nature. Enjoy a warm summer's evening in the mountains on your horse watching a natural moment of awe as the sun sets at 8:02pm and the almost full moon rises at 7:53pm and it's still light enough to to see your way. Sunset is an awkward time of day to ride in open terrain. We will stage at Garner Ranch, large fenced cattle property, around 5:00pm, ride out around 6:30pm. Since it's dinnertime bring your food and let's gather before the ride to meet everyone and talk about safety and riding in groups. Afterwards you don't need to drive home if you are the camping type and want to make a day or weekend of it. We suggest staying overnight at McCall Equestrian Park just up the mountain about 10 minutes (at the very tip). It's a gem of a horse park with 53 sturdy pipe corrals, bathrooms, showers and pull through parking. Horses required to stay there. Make your own reservations at https://www.rivcoparks.org/mccall. This day's event is a fundraiser for Santa Fe Hunt's hounds. Charging $35 non-members, $25 kids 12 and under and $30 SFH members. Purchase your ticket at https://www.santafehunt.com/upcming-events. Specific questions please direct them to Clare Williams: 760-492-4198 or email@example.com. Families welcome. Riders only pay. Must have your own horse.
